I learned so much!

I have had so much fun this last week! My sweet mother in law got tickets to Women's Conferance for me and my two sister in laws and volunteered to watch the kids. Who wouldn't take up an offer like that? We left Wednesday night and managed to get htere early enough to have dinner with my Mom who was also attending Women's Conferance and MElissa who drove down to relive memories and specialty drinks at Los Hermanos. We were lucky enough to get to stay with Grandpa's first wife's sister, Aunt Ada; who is the sweetest, nicest lady I have ever met and makes me so excited to meet the Grandma that none of us have met. Bright and early we braved the "big city" traffic and barely made it on time to the first session. Sheri Dew talked about influence then we walked and got lost before we made it to the following classes; Early Motherhood, After Much Tribulation the Lord Did Hear My Cries, and Merry Hearts MAke a Cheerful Countenance. We handpicked the classes that we wanted to attend and learned so much. I jokingly told Will, "If you aren't careful, those meetings could change your life!" HOw true that is too! I'm sure that we would have learned from any class we walked into, they were all so good. We opted to skip the closing session because we had heard from a reliable source that he was boring. whoops. INstead we went to the BYU Creamery and got ice cream and went on a shopping spree, justified by our trip up north and incentives given to us by Julie to Bath and Bodyworks and a scrapbooking store. We finished the night by eating at Mimi's and chatting and deeply discussing things that will never leave that dining room- I hope. The next morning was a bit warmer. We listened to Julie Beck speak and then didn't make it to our first class about uncluttering, but we were first in line for my Anger Management class- sure, laugh all of you who don't really know me. Which was an excellent class that helped me realize why and how and the importance of secure relationships. We then walked back up to the MArriot Center to listen to a talk about Equality in Marriage- it was really good too, and then the crowning glory! The closing speaker was President Monson! Just to be in the same room is enlightening. I loved hearing the women start singing, "We Thank THee oh God For a PRophet" occulpa, it was so tender and beautiful. ANd it is always a blessing to be told by a man how wonderful and great women are as a whole and it gives us a lot to live up to as well. Then we went back to real life, and the spiritual mood lasted about 24 hours, but I still learned a lot and have set better goals for myself. I am so glad I had this opportunity, and thanks again to my mother in law who always seems to know when I need a break. THanks Julie!
